A Guide to Modern Flight Etiquettes

Airplane tickets are now made affordable. Result? People who thought twice even before checking the airlines’ websites will go get their tickets. Did you know that air travel is an entertaining experience? I see people freezing after they enter the airport, confused about what to do and where to go. So what’s better than a frequent flier like me helping you adjust in the environment without looking like a first-time traveller?

Get an internet connection before you leave for the airport
Or just connect your phone to the airport WiFi once you step in the airport. This enables you to let people on your social media accounts, especially Facebook, to know that you are travelling—to be precise travelling by "plane". Being at the airport gives you a wealthy feeling after all!

Now that leads to point number two, dressing well. All brands, fancy clothes, ironed shirts, best pair of jeans, and the trendiest pair of shoes come out of the wardrobe when travelling by air. You will never be looked at or will be looked at for the wrong reasons if you wear those regular clothes there. Airports are to flaunt that you are worthy of the ticket you booked.

Brush up your English (You don’t have an option)
Or again you will be deemed indifferent. From the airline staffs to a 5-year-old, you will find all of them conversing in English.The so-called modern moms need a special mention here. Oh, by the way, you will find a loooot of them faking it, so chill.

Click click click
Once you get your boarding pass, put a selfie with it. No, no, it doesn’t matter whether it is safe or not to do so. Just do it anyway. Or you can put a selfie saying “waiting to board the flight”. Pictures like this fetch a lot of likes on Facebook and Instagram (since people in your friend list are mostly jobless and gets swayed away seeing you in the airport). The word airport itself carries a lot of weight for your pictures, you see?

Choose between eating and sleeping
Everyone gets hungry during the flight. I don’t know why but they do. But there are times when you have nothing in your wallet. Eating onboard is pricey, you know? So either keep your wallet ready or sleep or at least act so.
FYI, I sleep because I have motion sickness and I don’t want to eject my vomit on the co-passengers.

The must-have pictures
Landing without taking pictures of the clouds and the wing of the plane is a serious offence. No, I am serious. The way you click the already beautiful clouds shows what a marvellous photographer you are!
